Seeking girls who seek adventure

Know a girl who loves the outdoors – or who would love the outdoors if she got the opportunity to experience it?
Girlventures offers expeditions for girls in grades 6-12. The organization provides full scholarships based on family income and strives to ensure that one-third of the participants in each adventure are on full scholarship.
Come to a one-hour information session at the GirlVentures Office to see a slideshow about GirlVentures, hear more about the programs,  understand the admissions process and get all your questions answered!

From the Girlventures website:

Critical to success on a GirlVentures course is a girl's motivation and willingness to "say yes to try". The first decisive factor in admissions at GirlVentures is motivation!
All of our programs provide our girls with opportunities to:
  • Experience physical success
  • Express creativity
  • Celebrate girls' diverse identities
  • Practice group decision making and problem solving
  • Develop community responsibility
  • Engage in healthy conflict resolution
  • Cultivate a sense of appreciation and stewardship for nature and the environment.

Girlventures offers such programs as Project Courage:

For Bay Area Girls Entering 7th & 8th Grades
June 12 - 25, 2011&
July 3 - 16, 2011

Full financial aid is available! (Full cost to non-low-income participants: $2,350)

Embark on a 14-day outdoor adventure that inspires self-discovery, creative expression, and fun. Paddle your sea kayak on Tomales Bay, rock climb beside the windswept Sonoma Coast, and backpack through stunning Point Reyes National Seashore. As a group, you will learn to live outdoors, sleeping on beaches and under stars, as you navigate challenges, learn new skills, and support one another. Friendship, laughter, and new experiences await you on this exciting adventure!
